The Wauneta Co-op Grocery Store is a community-driven effort focused on bringing sustainable grocery access back to Wauneta and the surrounding area.

We believe small towns deserve dependable access to fresh food, household essentials, and a welcoming place to gather. Together, we’re creating a grocery store rooted in local values, community ownership, and long-term sustainability.

A COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER

The idea for the Wauneta Co-op Grocery Store began with a shared belief: that access to a local grocery store matters deeply to the future of our community.

A grocery store is more than a place to shop. It supports local families, helps keep dollars in the community, provides convenience for residents of all ages, and creates a stronger foundation for future growth.

As conversations grew throughout Wauneta, so did the momentum behind creating a cooperative grocery store owned and supported by the people it serves.

Today, our board continues working alongside community members to build a sustainable, long-term solution that reflects the needs and values of Wauneta.
